Mrs. Biegler and Miss Williams are full-time and available Monday-Friday. Mrs. Keener is our new part-time counselor and is available Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Piney Branch takes part in implementing the school-wide PBIS program, a multi-tiered framework designed to make schools operate more effectively by promoting and reinforcing positive behavior. It establishes a social culture and the behavior supports needed to improve social, emotional, behavioral, and academic outcomes for all students. PBIS is flexible enough to support student, family, and community needs. This year the PBIS team developed a new system that highlights students' successes by meeting them where they are and is centered on our values of kindness, care, respect, and courage.

PWCS cares deeply about students’ emotional well-being during their time away from school.  If a student is in need of emotional support during this time, please feel free to send an e-mail to [email protected].  A school mental health or health professional will answer and offer virtual support to students to the best of their ability.  This e-mail is not to be used for emergency situations as it will not be monitored 24 hours a day.  If a student is ever in an emergency situation he/she is encouraged to call 911 or utilize one of the resources listed below:

 Comprehensive School Counseling Program

Our school counseling program offers a variety of services to help your children with their social/emotional, academic and career development. Services can be provided in three ways: (1) Individual counseling (2) Group counseling and (3) Monthly counseling classroom lessons (for our School Counseling Objectives please click here). School Counselors are also available to meet with parents on an as-needed basis.

If you do not want your child to participate in the Social/Emotional Lessons you have the option to opt him or her out. You can fill opt-out by contacting Mr. Thorne at [email protected]
